Annual Arts & Crafts Festival

The Sylvania Area Chamber Arts and Crafts Festival is the crown jewel event in the Sylvania area and will be on Sunday, September 12, 2010, on the grounds of Lourdes College, Convent Blvd. in Sylvania. Reaching over 25,000 annually, the show offers a wealth of opportunities for artisans and businesses who want to brand their image and access art lovers in Northwest Ohio.

Requirements: All items displayed will be juried and must be created and handmade by the exhibitor. We want to assure the integrity of the show and for this reason no kits, imports, or commercial items are to be displayed or sold. The Festival Committee will review all items and reserves the right to disallow any exhibitor not conforming to these requirements or any art or craft that does not meet the selective criteria. Additionally, the Committee reserves the right to refuse any art or craft considered physically hazardous or visually offensive. All displays must be set up by 9:00 a.m. and remain intact until 4 p.m.

Awards: Qualified judges will select best of show winners in the categories of fine arts and crafts.

Publicity: Publicity, through the media, will encourage the public to "come and buy". The Festival Committee realizes that exhibitors' sales are very important to a successful show and therefore have planned an extensive media buy.

General Information: Refreshments will be available at the Festival site and will include a variety of food and beverages from well-known local food establishments. Portable restrooms and first-aid stations will be clearly marked. All sales are handled directly by the artist and they will be responsible to collect Ohio Sales Tax on each item sold and remit to the State of Ohio. A Vendor's license may be obtained by contacting the Ohio Department of Taxation, One Government Center, Toledo, Ohio 43604. Phone: 1-888-405-4089. No commission will be charged by the Festival Committee. Free "Park and Ride" will be available for the viewing public from several locations. Chartered buses will provide continuous transportation to the festival site throughout the day. City of Sylvania on-duty police officers will supervise traffic.

Fee: The fee is $135.00 per space payable with registration. (See "Exhibit Space" for space dimensions.) Exhibitors will be notified of space assignments by August 25, 2010. Deadline for cancellations is August 10th and no refunds will be refunded after that date.

Registration and Parking: Registration and parking information will be mailed out to you prior to the show.

Exhibit Space: Your display measures 10 foot (frontage) by 20 foot (depth). Exhibitors must provide their own tables. No gas driven generators are allowed in the booth area.

Each year the Annual Sylvania Arts & Crafts Festival gains additional recognition and increased attendance because of the high quality of its exhibitors. We look forward to your participation.
