The Alzheimers Association is holding their Annual Longest Day celebration event on Thursday June 21, 2018.
The Longest Day, held annually on the summer solstice, is highlighted as the most important “action day” during June, which is also Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. By combining the timing of these events, we are able to create a louder, larger conversation around Alzheimer’s disease worldwide.
The Longest Day is one of the Alzheimer’s Association’s signature fundraising event to show our love for those affected by Alzheimer’s disease. Participants around the world will do what they love – biking, hiking, playing bridge, swimming, knitting and more – to honor a caregiver, someone living with Alzheimer’s, or someone they’ve lost to this devastating disease. Together, participants will raise funds and awareness to advance care, support and research efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association.
The Longest Day offers a tangible call to action during Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month. This day can be used not only to celebrate participants of The Longest Day but also to raise awareness and share the message with the world in a collective and mission-focused way
